The Symphony of Life
Art Journey ~ Taishan Museum Exhibition, China 2018
Jean-Yves Pelletier, an indispensable mastermind behind the scenes.
Jean-Yves dedicated himself to this art project with fiery passion, sharp intellect, and effortless grace.
Starting from scratch, at his age of sixty, he became my foremost calligraphy disciple,
crafting my studio, building my fishpond garden, creating my website, exhibition posters, art catalogues
and even planning the exhibition gallery layouts...all executed with tireless dedication and precision.
The rare talent of a lady chatelaine ~ Exhibitions of Ngan Siu-Mui and her diciples 2018
It took 2 years to prepare this exhibition.
Thirteen of my disciples participated in the exhibition at Taishan Museum, with seven artists of Western origin and six of Chinese origin.
Their impressive work demonstrates both skill and cultural diversity.
The exhibition can be regarded as an international cultural exchange event. Montreal, Quebec, is primarily a French-speaking city,
though it is officially bilingual in both French and English. Notably, the exhibition’s artbook and the accompanying artwork inscription cards,
published by the Museum, were presented in three languages: Chinese, English, and French—further emphasizing its cross-cultural significance.

The custom wooden crates for artwork transport were expertly crafted by Jean-Yves Pelletier.

Medium: Hand-carved stone seal
Inscription: "Selfhood emerges through the other" (from Zhuangzi's "Butterfly Dream")
Nicole Chenut's work and statement were given prominent placement in the catalog.
The catalog was published in three languages: Chinese, French, and English.
Jean-Yves Pelletier not only designed the entire layout
but also handled the French and English translations,
while I oversaw the Chinese version.
This meticulous multilingual process proved to be quite challenging.
Corine Gallard's work and statement were given prominent placement in the catalog.
Each student was featured with their own artist statement and artwork images on dedicated catalog pages.
