Students learn how to use their wrist, elbow, forearm ... to move the Chinese brush energetically with control. Ngan Siu-Mui shows how to use Chinese ink, pigment and watercolor paper properly. Your painting will show lively movement, energetic strokes, and likeness to the subject. The end result is a well balanced composition.

The main theme of the painting classes is on birds. The idea is to build up strong techniques for the suject. It will be much easy to go forward for any subject of animals in the future. My professor Chao Shao-Ang, master of Lingnan school style is welknown for capturing energetic movements in nature. Instead of choosing just lovely look, his sophisticated brush movements and water control techniques show the vitality of birds. As a disciple of this master, I aim at passing on these techniques to art lovers.
