"Mrs Ngan Siu-Mui’s native village is Naling in Hai Yan Town, Taishan. She is the disciple of master painter Chao Shao-Ang of Lingnan School. Immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1988, she teaches Chinese arts to promote Chinese culture in her own school. By holding many cultural events all over the world, she made a significant contribution to the cultural exchanges between East and West. In 1991, Mrs Ngan founded and presided the Traditional Chinese Culture Society of Montreal. In 1999, she became the first Chinese to be awarded the Certificat québécois de la citoyenneté pour le rapprochement culturel by the Quebec Government. Canada Post selected her design for the calligraphy appearing on the stamps celebrating the year of the Ram, 2015." (Source: Xin Ning Magazine, Taishan)
